Project 1 : olive oil from start to finish
Olive oil from Spain, it is famous all over the world!
The landscape is filled with olive trees especially in Andalusia, where the climate and soil is perfect for the trees.
We have the luxury to have several very old olivetrees on our land, which give lots of fruit every year. We just let the trees do their job and don't even water them. No pesticides are used. The only thing we do is pruning them now and then.
Season
November/december is the season to pick the fruit. We do this in the simple, old-fashioned way, tought to us by the old and traditional farmers around here.
Just like them after harvesting we take the olives (hundreds of kilos) to a local small cooperative-oil presser, where they press our olives for us. You can watch the fruits going through the complete press-process. After half an hour the oil is ready to take back in large plastic bottles. Virgen extra extra, or however you call it! Our oil is organic, ecologic, pure! You can't get it any better than this. You can't get it any simpler than this.
We offer you a special holiday
during the harvest period (november-beginning december) : if you want to join us in harvesting the trees, you can be present at the olive oil proces from start to finish and you will fly back home with your own pure olive oil!
Costs
The rental price of the appartment is the same as usual (30 euros per night, 200 per week) and the extra costs for the olive project are 30 euros per day - 2 or 3 days picking (depending the harvest), 1 day pressing. We will guide you through the whole process, bring you to the thousand years old trees, teach you how to work and take you to the oil presser to get your own oil. Transport is included.

Project 2: Help stray dogs and choose and adopt your own puppy
We are members and volunteers of the charity association VagabunDOGs, which aim is to help abandoned and stray animals, mainly dogs and cats. The problem of stray- and abandoned dogs and cats unfortunately is still a very big one here in Andalusia and in the Algarve.
A shelter
On our land we have created a safe shelter for puppies and young dogs which we foster until their adoption. All the dogs and puppies in this small and cosy shelter have been rescued by VagabunDOGs. They were found on the streets, in a garbage bin or even worse.
Thanks to associations such as VagabunDOGs these dogs get a second chance in life.

We offer you the possibility not only to help these anmials while being here, by visiting them, playing with them and caring for them, but also we offer you the possibility to get to know them and choose the dog or puppy that you want to adopt yourself and take home after your holiday.
Yes, you can make a difference even in caring for these dogs during a holiday. They need socialisation, they need to meet new people and they need attention. This will all help them forget their bad start in life and boost their selfconfidence so they can be great companion pets!
Costs
Costs for participating in the puppy-project:
10 euros per day/visit of the shelter
or
50 euros for a complete week (flexible in visiting, can be daily visits - or how often you like)
Costs for adopting a dog or puppy:
Adult dog : 120 euros (including vaccinations, chip, passport and castration)
Puppy: 80 euros (including vaccinations, passort, chip)
This adoption fee will be paid to VagbunDOGs association.
The additional transport costs by plain for a dog vary from 40-60 euros. We will assist you in arranging all what is necessary to get your chosen dog back home with you.
